 Leslie Reid navigated her Olympic mount Mark through the Grand Prix test on Friday to win the class at the Festival of the Horse CDI3* being held April 1-3 in Burbank, California. The show is also the setting for the US League Finals where the representatives for Las Vegas will be decided.
Reid was awarded a score of 68.667% which was chased be a field of 6 competitors but could not be beat. In second place was Steffen Peters & Lombardi II earning 66.75%. Rounding up the top three was fellow Canadian rider Evi Strasser & Quantum Tyme with 64.50%.
The 5-member judging panel included Lois Yukins, Janet Brown, Mary Seefried, Elizabeth McMullen and Trond Asmyr.
Next on deck for Reid and the impressive Dutch Warmblood gelding, owned by Deryol Andrews, is the Grand Prix Freestyle taking place Sunday.
Meanwhile the US League Finals heat up today with the Grand Prix. Competitors include such heavy hitters as Debbie McDonald & Brentina, Leslie Morse with Tip Top & Kingston and Guenter Seidel with Nikolaus 7 and Aragon. The Grand Prix takes place on Saturday with the Freestyle being featured on Sunday.
